Founded by Toyonoshin Matsukawa, a samurai of the Date domain, during the Tempo era (1830–1844),Sendai's iconic folk craft, the "Matsukawa Daruma," was created as a symbol of comfort for the common people.To this day, Tohoku is home to nostalgic and charming regional toys that continue to be cherished today.We present a collection of beloved traditional toys from Tohoku, including Yawata-Uma, pigeon whistles, and Okiagari Koboshi.
