In 1987, to commemorate the opening of the Sendai City Subway Namboku Line, 117 gas lamps were installed along Aoba-dori Avenue and Higashi Gobancho-dori Avenue.Now, 87 lamps cast a warm glow, earning the nickname "Gobancho, the Gas Lamp District."Lighting inspired by those gas lamps envelops the east-west free passage and souvenir shop in a soft lemon hue.

Town Fifth Avenue with Gaslight
In commemoration of the opening of business of Sendai municipal subway, 110 Gaslight proud of the best scale in Japan to was installed in Fifth Avenue and authority of green leaves located in the Sendai Station west exit front.
